The problem

Shops in Lebanon take cash in two currencies, lose internet often, and use hardware from a dozen vendors. Most POS software is cloud-locked, billed monthly and English-only. A supermarket leaving its old system needed every item, price and Arabic name to come across intact.

What we built

  • USB barcode scanners, thermal printers, cash drawers, weighing scales and customer pole displays
  • Charges in USD and LBP at once, with change shown in both
  • Full Arabic interface, switched instantly
  • A manager adds products from a phone camera over the shop Wi-Fi
  • A sale saves in about 0.6 ms; 19,960 products preview in 38 ms
  • Moved a supermarket off its old POS: 5,061 items in 46 categories
